Background
I've always had a passion for design—what started as a creative outlet quickly became something more. In 2018, I launched Allison’s Custom Cuts, turning my hobby into a small business selling custom products in local stores and on Etsy. When the pandemic disrupted in-person sales and rising costs squeezed profit margins, I took a step back to reevaluate my path. After connecting with other creatives, I discovered UX design and immediately felt at home. I completed a UX/UI boot camp through the University of Minnesota, took on freelance projects, and eventually earned an internship and later a contract role at CHS.
Before pivoting into design, I spent several years as a Certified Athletic Trainer. I earned my B.S. in Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where I was deeply involved in clinical rotations with collegiate athletes and led multiple student organizations, including serving as president of the UW-La Crosse Athletic Trainers’ Association. After graduation, I worked at Gundersen Health System, providing medical care as the sole athletic trainer for two high schools and assisting in an orthopedic specialty clinic.
Outside of work, I'm all about family, friends, and exploring new places. I'm incredibly close with my family, and my three nephews are the light of my life. I love being outdoors and traveling—some of my favorite destinations so far include the Rheingau wine region in Germany, Poros in Greece, Telluride in Colorado, the Austrian Alps, and Paris.
